Why do you want to be part of BTC?
I have a passion for helping others. Our times on earth are fleeting and we should focus on caring for one another.
What area of expertise do you plan on contributing to BTC?
My background in fundraising and helping nonprofits has been a passion and very successful. I love giving my time for the betterment of the world.
What social issue are you interested in addressing?
There are many issues that have a heart for. They include rape, LGBTQ youth and homelessness, child poverty and hunger.
How many years have you been in your career?
My career as a business owner-president has been over 15 years in floral and event design. For the past 6 years I have been an executive for a corporation as department designer, new business, and product development manager, with a focus on education and training.
How many years have you been part of social services?
Since high school, I have been heavily involved with nonprofits from diversity president in college to board member for planned parenthood Birmingham, AL. I also speak-educate garden clubs and garden clubs of America several times a year. Also, I am a member of Pride in leadership for my corporation.
How do you see BTC making a change on social issues?
Having a heart to make the world a better place will always rise to the occasion. Those little glimmers of social help change the trajectories of people’s lives. The hope is to leave this life better than we left it.
