Why do you want to be part of BTC?
This is a project that I believe in and am driven to be a part of the change.
What area of expertise do you plan on contributing to BTC?
A passion for floral design and execution to create displays that will change the minds of people.
What social issue are you interested in addressing?
Domestic abuse, regardless of the sex or race. Working to grow awareness and promote a change that WILL make a difference.
How many years have you been in your career?
30 years owning floral business.
How many years have you been part of social services?
I have spent 30 years teaching, being part of a non-for-profit organization and taking an executive role within the organization for 8 years. I have also worked with Illinois Dept of Corrections to help teach job skills to female inmates to ensure they have a bright future when released.
How do you see BTC making a change on social issues?
Change comes with awareness. With hope, the heightened awareness will promote the necessity for successful programs, the key word is SUCCESSFUL, too many programs are understaffed, underfunded and under-aware.
